Ok Guys, another query.
i am going to fit a fan (computer fan) on top of my ecu to cool it during our current "heat wave"! Dont have a clue about amp however.
The fan is 12v so was going to wire it up to the batttery but it says on the fan it is 0.45amps. What do i need to get to reduce the amps on the battery?
Tim

Tim Hi Tim The 0.45amps on your fan is what amps it draws when running, as long it is 12volts your fine to wire straight in (with a fuse/switch). hope this helps Tony

Tony's right. The impedance of the fan means that's how much current it will draw if 12v is applied across it, so there's nothing to worry about, V=IR and all that.

I've used a similar fan on mine, actually 2 of them, they draw such a small current There shouldn't be any issues.
I'm using one to draw cool air into the fuel tank cover and the other to suck the hot air out. As the tank cover is black I'm expecting it to be a bit toastie under there if the sun is out so may upgrade to a PC BLOWER of some kind.
I've connected them to the main relay so they only come on with The ecu. May add a small timer to keep them on for a minute Or two after switching off.
