Oh forgot to ask, how comfy are those seats from ebay, i was going to get the pair for like £160 as they look alot lighter than the standard mx5 seats, only think putting me off is how comfy they are, im not too fused for long journeys just general driving. Also how wide in the seat base part on the inside, im 6 ft 3 and about a 34 waist so just wondering if ill fit as they look pretty narrow
The seats are very comfy and a snug fit. Im 6'2 with 34 waist and they are spot on around the waist. I would have liked a bit more room on the upper back/shoulder part of the seat but i guess these are designed to hold you in place. I had read some horror stories about the company that supplies them but mine were delivered within a few days without any issues. Also i didnt have any issues fitting them, the cast in captive threads are solid and the seats fit on the mx5 runners without any problems.
just noticed the black floor in your Exocet, looks great, i have gone for all black with some small red parts (springs, calipers and rocker), never been to fused about the silver floor and my front fire wall needs covered as i really hate the job i did.
All black exocet , IVA passed October 2012. Powered by Eunos 120bhp 1.6
Ive vinyl wrapped my firewall parts and fitted edge trim to all 4 sides of each cut. This isnt required but when the panels are all in place they look a lot neater as the edge trim hides the cut edges, it makes them look a lot less diy.
The black Checker arrived today and I have cut out one piece, so far i am realy impressed!! If you want the all black look or just a nicer floor, this is a great option for around £40 inc P&P. I also think it will dampen down some noise as well.

Had another busy day in the drafty, damp, asbestos roofed office today.
Managed to final fix the new brake lines as well as bleed them all. No major issues apart from relocating the small rear junction box and the ball ache of a seized bleed nipple. I was amazed to find no leakages at all (hardly surprising when a pro has done the flares and not my diy efforts!). The full set of brake lines (6 in total) were from mx5parts.co.uk and very good quality.
The relocated junction box
My new suede gear knob and handbrake handle gaitors turned up yesterday so finished off the tunnel. I didnt think it would turn out as well as it did, more than pleased with it
Trial fitted the tunnel and bulkheads again before the final fixing of them.
I had an idea how i wanted everything to look from day one apart from the lighting layout. That came to an end last week and the postman delivered the goods this morning. Trial fitted the rear lights (LED stop and tail) and indicators earlier and think im gona stick with this layout. The indicator lens is much darker in the flesh, almost black, and blends in nicely with the angles of the car.
As you might have noticed from the pics the wiring has gone. I decided on a new loom after butchering mine and realising i had cut off a few things which i needed. That should arrive this week from mx5 heaven fully labelled! Im looking at having the exocet virtually complete by the end of next week with only snags to finalise, fingers crossed!
It can be left in it's original position but it meant more bending of the pipes and the lines i had were also slightly longer than required which just made it even more awkward and messy. I found by turning the box and relocating it meant the pipes had a much straighter run to it and overall seemed neater.
Are you on pistonheads and from neath i think ive spoke to you on the forums (MG CHRIS) is my name on there. Im a week or 2 from picking up my kit finished stripping the ppf down just got to clean, paint fit new polybushes, new clutch etc.
Im from blackwood and wouldn't mind coming down to have a look at it also where did you get the new wiring harness from as mine has been butchered with a after market alarm, not sure yet to go for that or the omex throttle body, ecu and loom and let rtr install the wiring.
Ive not had much time on the Exocet over the last few months which has been frustrating but got a long weekend off so putting it to good use and today a milestone was reached, the first drive!
One word....WOW! i was not expecting it to be so quick. I dont know if its the effect of sitting so low and completely open but the acceleration is very impressive. A couple of issues but nothing major. Going to re-bleed all the brakes and clutch as the dont feel 'right' at the moment, theres a bit of movement in the steering wheel/rack, noisy tappets (going to give it a oil change and flush tomorrow which will hopefully fix it) and the exhaust is a bit too loud
Since the last update ive changed the lighting layout on the rear, sorted my twin pipe upswept centre exit exhaust fitted all the bodywork. My original plan for completion has gone completely out the window and now looking to complete it somewhere around xmas time and book the iva for the early part of next year.
airforceone: Possibly another, If I see the kit I'm after at stoneleigh.

Steve: lol @ Paul.. Rocket Exodus..??? i just think its because the suns out, and the price becomes less negotiable
May 4, 2013 16:44:59 GMT
airforceone: The weather helps with the price but I would never get back what I've spent. Should get enough to get the kit I've always wanted along with a nice V8 engine engine.
