Hi Paul,
It is electrical tape over heat shrink. I also intend to put it inside some split conduit tuning for extra protection, just waiting to finalise everything before I do that though.

Did the wiring for the rear lights. All I need to do is get it connected to the switches and test it before I tidy it up and put it inside some conduit: Again, I have soldered most of the joints and then put heat shrink over then, and then a layer of insulating tape for extra protection and water resistance. I'll wrap it up with some self amalgamating tape afterwards. I was planning on using the wiper stalk for the lights. I found the instructions for the modification, but when I tested it with a multimeter the side lights wouldn't work, so it's back to the drawing board. I suspect I'll just add some buttons to my centre console. Cheers Mark

i was debating on a turn switch similar to the focus one but nicer looking, saves having lots of clutter on the console, hopefully mount it dead centre or something. can get all functions on one, possibly hazard too

Yeah, I was thinking about that too, but decided just to get another couple of savage switches like I have on my console already.

i cant seem to find a rotary that will match the savage ones, think its going to be a hunt through nice car specs to see what has one, possibly a bmw e series

Hi Ol,
Yes, I modified it ages ago. Though I did a pretty decent job, but obviously not!

So, here is the full diagram I have been working on. I must stress that as yet, most of this is still to be tested properly!! If anyone spots any mistakes just let me know and I'll rectify. The different colour wires don't really mean anything, I ws just trying to make it easier to look at them and trace their route. I have also tried to lay it out like it is in my car, so you can see everythings relative position. If anyone wants this emailed to them just use the @ button below my profile pic on the left to email me. or just send me a PM.

Well, she's alive!
(sort of!!)
Wired everything up today with the intention of turning the engine over. I can confirm that the ignition to start button to starter relay to starter solenoid part of my diagram works a treat!
Turned the key to ACC1 and the engine fuse board whizzed a little, turned to ACC2 and hit the start button and she turned straight over.
I'm well chuffed to get to this milestone. Next one will be to get the fuel tank/lines in and get all the fluids in. Then I'll be able to see if she starts.
Thanks to all who have given valuable advice on the wiring!
Cheers Mark
