As far as I can tell there were 2 different types of oil cooler fitted to ST's, mine was the simple one that was basically just an extension to the regular fitting. once this was removed it left the regular fitting behind to then just screw a filter on.
I did consider plumbing it in but the pipes would have been complicated and I didn't think it would be that effective anyway.
I guess that if the oil temp gets hi then I might have to reconsider !
Thanks Mabbs, high praise indeed given your Space Shuttle level of engineering!
The buttons are start on the right and stop/ign off on the right. Ignition on is done from a keyfob remote, no keys.
The wheels arrived yesterday and are gorgeous, the wife got a right strop on when I said I would like to sleep with them, I replied that it was only for one night! I'll post more pics when they are on.
Ade, the T pipe for the exhaust was a U bend that I cut in half turned around and welded on to a flange that I cut off the old Focus exhaust. that bolts on to an aftermarket ST Cat which in turn bolts to the Header.
The cans worked out really well, because they are carbon they are light and also they have road legal baffles in them, they sound great but aren't offensive. If you want offensive then a single screw allows the baffles to be removed!
The RFID chip that was in the original key now has to be inserted into the hole in the center console. I have embedded the chip in a small tubular keyfob that you put in the hole. the receiver antenna that used to be on the steering column is now behind the hole.
Basically you pitch up, press the keyfob button which turns the ignition on, jump in and press the start button on the steering wheel. For additional security you can pull the chip out of the console.
I missed something - when did you go from the plain floor to the checker plate?
Must have been interesting swopping it out.
What's the concensus on the use of checker over plain?
Also how did you colour it?
“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body. But rather, to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming .... WOW what a ride.”
kiwicanfly: just seen the Participated button - that's nice

tlight: Just so everyone is aware, Nigel maintains this page on behalf of the MEV OWNERS, not on behalf of the company. He does it in his own, precious time. He could take offence..... (Just sayin')

airforceone: I've been using Firefox and still having issues with the pages locking up. Not as bad now as it was when the new site went live so hopefully it will improve the longer it's running.
